Ditching Dino

  • The plaintiff says she hired the defendant to watch her dog while she went out of town for a few days. She said she got sick with pneumonia and couldn’t pick him up, so the dogsitter dropped her dog off at the pound and he was gone when she tried to go get him, so she’s suing. The defendant says the dog barked and bit and the neighbors complained, and says the plaintiff called the police on her.

The Defendent either sold or gave Dino away. She claimed it wasn't her responsibility to take care of the dog but she clearly accepted responsibility when she decided to take care of Dino until the Plaintiff came home. However, to be fair The Defendent could have charged the Plaintiff more money although unfortunately due to health problems she could not be there to pick up Dino on time. In the end, the Defendent is hateful and very unremorseful about her actions.

Having rescued and raised many strays...I can't imagi ne what that poor dog is going through ...how it is being treated...and for the sweet owner and 2 grandkids to lose their pet, who is a family member really. They liked the dog, so they kept the dog. They made up stories about aggression to validate why she gave him away to a friend/family member. The plaintiff shouldn't be surprised if in a few months from then, the dog shows up at the defendant's home.

The defendant is heartless & careless there’s no way the dog was dropped off @ the ASPCA because if that were the case she would have had proof to show the judge. She sold it to someone and the plaintiff is absolutely right the dog is priceless I’m an animal lover myself I remember when my childhood dog “Sparky” died I was 🥵💔 I cried like a baby that’s how sad I was. Judge Milian should have awarded the plaintiff’s every 💰 that they were suing for because pets are like family members and they’re more loyal than most people 💯 I hope they can find “Dino” 🙏🏿🙏🏿

I pray their dog is found. Great job Judge M!

Said she didn;t know the number of the shelter, nor the name or anything... People can be so cruel. We called all shelters and none had our cat. Never saw our beloved cat back again.

I left my dog with a dog sitter for a few days and she asked us for a local emergency contact. If you can do this it's a very good idea in case something goes wrong with the dog or the sitter, then someone you know can come get the dog to safety. But if your sitter isn't trustworthy you just don't have a guarantee. 😢Maybe you could make a contract with them? I it think would take years to fully understand dog law.
